The Old Forge Gate
Punky Garden Gate and Railing
For the Punky Garden Gate & Railing, our client required something funky made, to securely separate their garden and pool. The brief was for it to have an alternative look with no straight lines. "Think Camden Market"
Flat steel sections were forged out and textured to create an "old wood grain, plank" effect. These were then riveted to rounded upright sections that had been formed into loose scrolls and terminated with tapers and balls. This piece was finished with a satin black cold galvanising paint. |

Starburst Flower Handrail
The Star Burst Flower handrail, was commissioned by a client
who had seen something similar and wanted the piece to be expanded upon to create a two-step hand rail. The client preferred a style mixing Art-Nouveau and Arts & Crafts. The handrail was forged from mild steel, with a stylized "sunburst" flower as the main focus, textured leaf and wrapped tendril detailing. The piece has a galvanised and acid washed finish to create an antique lead look. |

Organic Garden Partition
We were commissioned to design, forge & install a partition between the client's patio area and the garden. The brief was for an organic piece that would blend in with the existing plants but be sculptural in it's own right.
The partition was made from hand forged mild steel using fire welding, riveting and wrapping techniques. As it was to be outside it was galvanised then a T-wash finish was applied to create an almost antique-lead look. On installation, it was fixed into place via the existing metal plate that ran along side the patio and screwed into the wall with hand forged rivet head bolts. |

Double Hand Rails
We were commissioned to make a set of handrails for steps leading to a front door. They had to be quite simple in design with their main function being to assist the home owner with access to the house up several steps. They were forged from mild steel and painted with an exterior black gloss. |

Bell Wall Bracket
We were contacted by a client who owned a brass bell of sizeable weight. They wanted a bracket making so that the bell could be positioned by their front door. It had to be able to support the bell's weight whilst being decorative. Made from mild steel, the bracket was galvanised then finished with t-wash. |

Two-Step Single Hand Rail
We were commissioned to create a handrail for a set of steep steps in a front garden. The house was in a conservation area so a design was created to the clients wishes whilst still in keeping with the restrictions of the area. Made from 4 sections of mild steel that had been forged out, rounded and ends tapered and curled round, they had then been connected together with chunky rivets. It has been finished with a black satin paint. The handrail had been drilled to the wall and secured anti-theft bolts. |

Gate Security Bar
We were contacted by a client who wished to add an additional security bar and padlock keep to the inside of an existing side gate and railing. It had to boost the gates security with a rigid bar between the brick wall and the railing, and be able to be secured with a padlock whilst still allowing the key lock in the gate to be used. A metal bar, wall pivot fixing and padlock box were forged out to the measurements taken during our primary site visit. On installation, the wall pivot fixing was affixed to the wall and secured with theft-proof bolts. The padlock box was welded to the railing. The additional metalwork was finished with several coats of black satin Hammerite paint to blend in with the existing paint work. |
Flower Garden Stakes
A client came to us requesting a collection of sculptural flowers that could be positioned in the garden, both for in the ground and to be placed in large pots. A mixture of roses and orchids were chosen as the flowers, some with leaves on the same stake and also additional stakes with only large leaves. Forged from mild steel and texturised to create the look of petals and leaves, the stakes were then galvanised and finished with a T-wash solution to create an antique-lead look. |
Driftwood Bench
This bench was based on classical ancient greece styling. The wooden seat is old teak driftwood found after the heavy storms at the start of 2013 off the northwest coast of the UK. Forged from 30mm square section mild steel with large rivet details, it was galavanised for external use and then a T-wash finish applied. The teak driftwood had several coats of Teak Oil. |
Security Gate & Railing
We were asked to design, forge and install a small gate with lock and railing for a client's back garden. The brief was for it to be a conventional style but with a small wave in the tips of the top spikes. Forged from mild steel, it has been galvanised for an external finish and then coated in a black satin lacquer. |
Barbeque
A client needed a bespoke-made barbeque to fit in their already built brick barbeque "house". Made from mild steel, we forged the 2 wall shelves, a top and bottom rack and a drip tray. The top rack had round bars with a twist detail. The bottom rack had round and off-set flat bars to be able to hold small & large embers in place and also create an area for wood fires. |
Coal Hopper Cover
This coal hopper cover was made to replace the original cover for the house which is dated 1800. The letter N was added on the compass spike so that the client could orientate the compass the north. This piece was galvanized then T-washed to give an antiqued lead feel and provide a hardy exterior finish. |
