Made from mild steel and coloured with bitumen from the coal fire to give a good silky black finish, it is then gently burnished to bring out the detail of the texturing and then finally given two coats of wax.

Organics No7 - Table Candle Lamp
Facing down whilst feeding from the sea bed, and with their upturned bodies undulating in the underwater current, this representation of sea life surrounds a central candle making a fantastic table lamp centre piece.
Made from 2mm mild steel that has been bitumanized in a coal fire for a deep black lustre, it has then been gently burnished to bring out the hammer mark detailing. The glass chimney that comes with the stand is an original 1920's lamp glass and takes 1 1/2"x4" candle however, if you would like to it without the glass, the stand can hold a church pillar candle up to 2" comfortably.
The lamp body is in three separate pieces; the main body, which has ventilation holes drilled in the bottom to allow the candle to breath, a rotating base to hold the chimney glass and control air flow and finally there is a wax drip dish that completes the lamp.

Organics No8 - Clock No1
A fantastic wall clock made from mild steel using repouse techniques and hammered texturing to create a wonderfully abstracted organic piece. The clock was placed into the smoke of fresh coal on the fire to allow the smoke to empart a silky black bituman coating to the steel. Then after a gentle rub down with fine sand paper, the clock has a final coating of two layers of wax to seal it from the elements.
Measuring approximately 250mm across and 270mm in length and with copper rivet detailing for the number position, the clock came supplied with a quartz movement and battery ready to go.
